As you may know, Columbus Schools recently achieved Continuous Improvement status on the State of Ohio report cards for 2006-2007. This is an excellent accomplishment, made possible by the hard work of many teachers, administrators, community members, and ultimately, our students. As a member of the Columbus Board of Education, and as a parent of a child in the district, I’m proud of the progress we’re making.

The primary reason that I have chosen to serve on the Board is to help our district continue our improvement. I’m proud to have played an instrumental role in the development of our Academic Ends policies – policies that help chart the course for our students’ success through high school, and beyond. Thinking of the success stories within our district, and the possibility for even greater successes in the future inspires me to give everything I can as a board member. Anything less would short-change the thousands of children who are depending upon us.

As a life-long resident of Columbus, I know very well the importance our community places on education. I also know well the challenges we face, and I believe that with your continued support, we can keep our district moving forward. Our continued viability as a community depends upon a thriving urban core, including a strong public education system.

This November 6th, you will have the opportunity to choose among many candidates to serve on the Columbus Board of Education. I ask that you select me to continue representing our schools, and I promise I will continue to give everything I can on behalf of our community and our children.
